Get To Know Intertwined!

Intertwined Conservation Corporation (ICC) is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, not-for-profit organization that conserves biodiversity in Latin America through education and collaboration. Our mission is to protect and preserve endangered species, educate the public about the dangers of species loss, and to encourage local economic development as a means of deterring poaching.

ICC accomplishes its mission of educating the public and preserving endangered species by working closely with partner organizations like Macaw Conservation, SoCal Parrot, Costa Rica Wildlife Foundation, and ProCAT. Once a year, ICC takes a trip to Costa Rica to get out in the field to meet with partners located there, bringing supplies and working with the rehabilitation of macaws.

Intertwined also educates San Diego schoolchildren by offering an education program package which includes two educators accompanied by an ambassador parrot to visit classrooms. Students are educated on parrot anatomy, habitats, and the threats on the environment and wildlife along with ways Intertwined Conservation works to make a difference. The program also offers a supplied activity and a chance (if conditions allow) to see our ambassador parrot free fly!

There are many ways to support Intertwined Conservation Corporation. The easiest way is by following our Instagram and Twitter and liking our Facebook page to be notified of events or fundraisers happening locally. Signing up for our newsletter and keeping up with our blog is another way and by doing so, you get the chance to learn more about various key species and the actions you can take against the threats habitats and species in Costa Rica face. ICC is currently accepting new volunteers to help with events and social media. Email info@intertwinedconservation.org for more information on volunteering. We’d love to hear from you!
